About the artist
Elena Gileva is a Russian designer and ceramicist based in London. Inspired by the delightful play between photography, texture and clay, Gileva approaches the piece as if it were glazes, adding layers of complexity to the work. The plate is cut to reflect the landscape it depicts, adding chine colle to the foreground for depth and tone. The work sets a stage and creates a window into another world. We are delighted to be working with her to find the intersection between ceramics, photography and print!
